WELCOME back, friends

Superior Morgan Horse Sale.

This year, more superior than ever.

Dear Morgan Horse Enthusiast,

We hope this letter finds everyone on the go and hopefully, everyone had a successful breeding season and are having a fun and great show season. We are excited and are getting ready for our 13th Annual Superior Morgan Horse Sale on November 18 & 19, 2022 at the Michicana Event Center in Shipshewana, Indiana. We are very pleased with the interest in the sale, having sold out our limit of sale horses within days of opening to consignments.

Because of the popularity of our sale and the number of horses consigned, we will no longer be having the tack sale on Friday. Instead, we will be selling horses Friday morning followed by our Stallion Presentation in the evening, which will feature our Superior Sweepstakes Stallion Service Auction (nominated stallions will have their services auctioned during their presentation). Saturday morning, we will continue with the sale horses. All events will be held in the indoor driving arena, and the building is an all indoor, heated facility.

If bidding by phone and not present at the sale, please call no later than Thursday, November 17th to ensure that you’re ready to go by sale day. We require full name, address, telephone number, credit card information, and which horses you’re interested in. On the day of sale, we will contact you when we are close to selling that horse, so that you’re on the phone as we are selling. There is a 4% surcharge on credit card purchases and sales tax will be charged, unless we have an exemption form completed with tax number and signature. Buyer is responsible for their own hauling arrangements.

NO SALE IS NOT AN OPTION, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO PURCHASE YOUR HORSE BACK FROM SUPERIOR MORGAN HORSE SALE. If a horse becomes unable to sell because of death or sickness, a substitute may be used, but the sale committee must be informed of the change and approved by the sale committee. A vet certificate of death, sickness or unsoundness must accompany the request. If a horse is sold or the owner is unable to make a substitution before the sale date a fee of $200.00 per horse must be paid.

All horses consigned must be registered with the Morgan Horse Association, or the Canadian Horse Registry, and all registrations must be in the current owner’s name and owner must sign the transfer before any money can be transferred. If a registration is pending, we must have a letter from the AMHA with your consignment form.

The sale committee will be inspecting horses, however, the owner’s statement of soundness will be announced from the auction block. The Superior Morgan Horse Sale committee reserves the right to reject any horses for any reason including, but not limited to: unsoundness, poor physical condition, and improper documentation of health requirements, or registration papers.

All horses (sale, stallion, and transit) must have flu and Rhino shots within the last 6 months and no later than 21 days prior to the sale. This must be included on your health papers and signed by your vet. Each horse must also have a negative Coggins test within 6 months of the sale and an interstate health P-aP-er within 30 days of the sale. Canadian horses must have International papers for transport between countries. All mares sold vet checked in foal, if questionable, must be checked at the buyers expense before leaving the sale grounds. If found not to be in foal, it will be the seller’s expense. All mares not vet checked in foal are assumed to be open and sold as such. All bred mares must have a signed foal registration application.

Stalls will be available to early arrivals at 12:00 (noon) on Thursday. We will sell horses in the order as printed in the catalog, if you want a pair of horses to be sold together, you must inform us when you send in your consignments. If you want to be stalled with another consignor, please state that on your consignment form.

All no shows are subject to a $200.00 fee per horse, unless a signed vet certificate of unsoundness or death is received by the sale committee. Any outstanding fees will prohibit you from selling a horse until the debt is paid in full.
